NED Alumni Endowment Fund (NED-ALEF) is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded in 2012 by NEDians of North America. Our mission is to support NED University in its journey to become a world-class institution, recognized for its leadership in technological advancement and scientific progress in Pakistan.

HISTORY:

Each year since 2005, we have had NED Alumni Conventions in different cities of North America. At each NED event a common theme had been that NEDians should “give back to” and “do more for” NED – and that the NED Alumni Associations in North America should jointly undertake such organized efforts. The conversation to create an umbrella association started at the 2007 Silicon Valley NED Alumni convention; and three years later, the establishment of NED International Alumni Network – North America (NEDIAN-NA), at NED 2010 Chicago – 6^th International Alumni Convention, saw it transformed into reality.

With the passion to serve NED as the driving force, NEDIAN-NA, at NED 2012 DC – 8^th International Alumni Convention, founded an Alumni-based NED ALumni Endowment Fund (NED ALEF).

Initially only, it was decided to use part of the principal, as well as income from investments to achieve our Objectives. As of 2025, we have retained the corpus of funds and utilized only the earnings from our investments.

Following a decision of the Board of Directors of NEDIAN-NA in 2020, NED ALEF is, as of November 11, 2020, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, tax-exempt corporation. NEDIAN-NA designates two Directors to NED ALEF BOT: NEDUET and NEDIAN-PK   one Director each. The remaining Board Members are nominated from various Alumni Organizations and serve for three years each; Board Members are replaced on a staggered basis.
